Order the kit
The HAM model is a four-part 3D-printed apparatus designed at UZ Gent: bottle body with scope guide and smoke extraction, screw cap, perforated smoke sleeve, and a cradle that clamps to any standard procedure table. We assemble it, test it, and ship it with the SDI cable and connections you need.
- 3D-printed HAM model — bottle body, screw cap, smoke sleeve, and cradle (UZ Gent v7 design)
- Reusable assessment stencil — four shapes plus practice
- Blue ink pad for transferring the stencil pattern onto the ham
- SDI cable and all connections needed to bridge your endoscopy processor to your laptop
- Quick-start guide for first attempt and ham preparation

First-attempt checklist
Run through this before pressing record. Bad inputs mean bad scores.
- Fresh ham. Refrigerated, sliced to spec, transferred to the model just before recording.
- Stencil pattern clearly inked. Blue lines visible end-to-end.
- Endoscope white-balanced. Light source at standard clinical setting.
- Capture chain confirmed at ≥ 30 fps. Test record 5 seconds and check.
- Full field-of-view visible. No black bars cropping the image.
- Vendor pop-ups dismissed. The Fujifilm "Set External Memory" overlay must be cleared from the tower keyboard before recording — it interferes with AI rating.
